Integrated Pre-K to 12 Hybrid Education: Ensuring Continuous Learning On-Site and Online
In the 2026-2027 school year, all classes will be conducted online through Blackboard. Our on-site program is specifically designed for elementary school students in 1st, 2nd & 3rd, and 4th/5th grade. However, we also offer a hybrid education model for all students. Please note that online classes are available only for middle and high school students, as well we for ALTA test preparation.

What are the benefits for students?
The goal is to have heritage students eventually reach advanced level on the A.C.T.F.L Proficiency Scale by middle school graduation. This takes approximately 8 years of heritage language study for most students.
Students must successfully complete the Bulgarian Heritage Language Classes in order to see the following benefits:
Access to high school and college credits through AP coursework at the Bulgarian School of Seattle. Students learn to effectively express themselves in Bulgarian both conversationally and in an academic setting. Many students will qualify for the Global Seal of Biliteracy (after taking ALTA at the Bulgarian School provided by the Association of Bulgarian Schools in America (ABSA) & the Washington State Seal of Biliteracy .
